Sony Ericsson has announced their partnering with Billabong and launching a special version of its old phone Xperia Active Phone. This phone specifications are also same as its old version like this phone has 3 inc HVGA display, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, barometer, compass, flashlight,single core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of internal memory, and a 5MP rear camera with 720p video recording. This device will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating System, but according to officials it will be upgraded to ICECREAM SANDWICH 4.0 and this will come in end of March 2012.
This new or updated device, named as Xperia Active Billabong Edition.The meaning of this phone releasing with Billabong means that this device will come in market with an exclusive back cover with Billabong Tattoo,a lot of preloaded Billabong apps, Billabong branded games ,HD screen Savers ,videos and Billabong LIVE apps. According to the press release and As the two companies tell it, the Xperia ABE is the “ideal Smartphone for extreme sports enthusiasts.” Accordingly, Sony Ericsson hardware is about to start making appearances at various “major” Billabong events.This device will be first enjoyed by athletes who will be testing out the phone at major international events in places like Austria, Tahiti, and Singapore.
It would be nice to see if this phone will come up with some updates like its Processor, RAM and Rear Camera as per user expectations means it processor should be Quad core,RAM should be 1GB minimum and REAR camera also be replaced with upto 8MP. Talking about its prices means how much the Xperia Active Billabong Edition costs,it will be updated later on but this is sure or mention that the smartphone is now available in select markets like U.K,Australia and NewZealand .
